Prayer
Love Newport Beach longs to see a thriving prayer culture in our city.
The Christ-following church has this commission: to pray that God's kingdom comes and that His will is done on earth as it is done in heaven. As we partner together in prayer, we expect heaven to flow out of our city, and into our county, state, and nation.
Our highest priority is to know God, to make Him known, and to be used by Him in the advancement of His kingdom on this earth. We do this through prayer. Prayer is our lifeline of communication and relationship with God.
We want to affirm that prayer is the driving force behind any significant movement within a city! Will you continue to partner with us in this growing collective of people throughout the city of Newport Beach who are committed to praying regularly for our city? Please use this monthly guide to help you know some of the key "who and what’s" that are in need of prayer.

Initiative Leader
Kathy Gilbert
Kathy, a former Woodstock Hippie, became a Christian during the Jesus People Revolution. Once she believed the good news of Jesus Christ, she became a part of the communal Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CCCM) ministry called Shiloh in 1970. In 1976 she went on staff at CCCM and now serves there as their local mission chaplain. Kathy has been a part of the prayer initiative for Love Newport Beach, where she lives, since its inception. Kathy loves to pray for her city and encourages others to join her in praying wherever they are.
